The relationship between ourselves and Admiral is as strong as ever…although could the honeymoon period be about to come crashing down? Keep reading…

So, if you are already a customer of Admiral then you might be wondering why you are being WARNED, as of right now…in April 2018? It’s because you might have been double charged for your van insurance.

We already know that van insurance is expensive in the UK right now, especially if you live in big cities such as London. Nobody can afford to get double charged!

That is what happened though, as it recently came to light that Admiral double charged hundreds of their customers last month. This includes van insurance customers (YOU).

If you are a van insurance customer with Admiral then I recommend you check your bank account right away and make sure they haven’t taken out twice as much as they should.

It was an innocent mistake of course, as Admiral are one of the most trustworthy van insurance companies in the UK who have served millions of satisfied customers over the years.

Sometimes, these glitches just happen though. An error in the system. “Blame the robots,” is what I say.

As you would expect, Admiral are working hard to rectify the situation, and are saying that anyone who was double charged for their van insurance in March, won’t be charged in April. Once that happens then everyone is friends again.

With that being said, I would advise all Admiral van insurance customers to check their bank account in April 2018, just to make sure there are no more double charges.

However, be rest assured that if you do get double charged by Admiral then you can expect one of their customer service team to contact you right away.

Don’t worry though, because I reckon that Admiral have now got all of this sorted out and we won’t be hearing anything else about their van insurance customers being overcharged.

That is why I advise every CVI user to feel confident about choosing Admiral van insurance if they happen to be one of the best quotes you receive.

Make sure you fill out our 3 minute form first. Don’t go directly to the Admiral website because you want to make them compete against all of the other van insurance companies for your business.

Kind of like in the days of the Gladiators, where the warriors of Ancient Rome would march into the collesium for a no holds barred old fashioned fight.

That is what happens when you use Cheap Van Insurance, and that is why they call us “The Nations Favourite.”

Most Expensive Van Insurance? The Award Goes to…

Wondering which place has the most expensive van insurance in the UK? A recent survey has now given us the answer, and it isn’t surprising.

Before I reveal the answer, and to give you some frame of reference, let me tell you what the average cost of van insurance is right now in the UK…£1500 approximately.

Not exactly cheap is it, but van drivers have to pay those kind of figures because as we all know, it is a legal requirement to insure your van. Ignore that and you could find yourself with a fine, points on your license, a driving ban, and even in prison.

So where is the most expensive van insurance? East London to be exact, where the survey found the average price to be nearly £2000. Yes you read that right.

Drivers in East London are paying, on average, £2000 for insurance, and if reports are true, this could soon become even more expensive once new compensation laws are introduced by the government.

Van crime is becoming more of a problem of course, and London is one of those areas where van break-ins are a daily occurrence. Sure, this kind of crime can happen anywhere (and it does), it’s just that London seems to get it more.

There are many factors that determine how much you are going to pay for van insurance, such as age and experience of the driver, make and model of the van, where it is parked overnight…and so on.

It goes without saying that if you are a young driver in East London who wants van insurance then you are probably going to be paying well over £2000. Maybe even over £3000.

What can you do to get van insurance that isn’t quite as expensive? My advice is simple…use a comparison website. It really is all you have to do.

Most van drivers don’t do this however, and instead just stick with the same company year after year, or they try and compare by only going to a few different companies.

When you use a comparison website, it automatically sends your details to over 100 companies, so as you can imagine, it’s easy to get a cheap quote…even if you live in East London or somewhere else with expensive van insurance.

Don’t just take my word for it. Give it a try for yourself. It only takes around 3 minutes to enter some basic details and then you start getting quotes right away.

Man Admits Driving Without Van Insurance

A man in Lancashire was spared a prison sentence when he admitted to driving his van without any kind of insurance.

Not usually something they send you to prison for anyway you might be thinking, but when you consider he was also a disqualified driver then it becomes a more serious offence.

The man, who is 34, plead guilty in a court of law for not having a driving license and not having van insurance, although the judge decided not to send him to prison.

Instead, he got a suspended 8 week sentence, which means if he commits an offence again, especially driving a van without insurance, then he will be sent to prison for around 2 months. Not only that, but he also has to follow a 6 week curfew which does not allow him to leave the house between 8pm and 6am.

He was also given a 12 month driving ban, had 6 points put onto his license, given a 6 month supervision requirement and had to pay costs that came to £200.

The sentence was handed out because the man had only recently been banned from driving, and had significant previous offences.

It just goes to show you that driving without van insurance is something that can get you into a lot of trouble. Even if you don’t have any previous offences or a history of being in trouble with the law, if you get caught driving without insurance then the Police will not be very impressed.

You could find yourself in a lot of trouble, and may even have to go to court. As we’ve just seen, a prison sentence is unlikely, but you could easily get a suspended sentence, as well as fines.

My advice is simple…always make sure you get van insurance, and never drive without it. I’m hearing a lot of complaints recently about how “insurance is so expensive” and “I don’t want to pay it anymore,” but in reality you don’t have any choice.

It is UK law that your van must be insured, so if you don’t have a policy right now you must do it right away.

Sure, van insurance is getting more expensive, but if you shop around then you might be surprised to find out exactly how cheap it can be.

The best way to do this is by using a van insurance comparison website so you can have your details sent off to all the major insurance companies, and then within a few minutes you get all the quotes right there in front of you.

Some people have reported saving hundreds of pounds on their van insurance by doing this, so in my opinion, anyone who wants cheaper insurance should give it a try.
